Warmer days are here and I’m craving burgers again. It’s something about this time of year that makes you want to sit outside on a patio with friends while enjoying burgers, fries, and milkshakes. Or maybe you just want burgers with a salad and sparkling water, that’s okay too. Here in California we like to balance out our meals. ; )
If you are looking for a simple outside the box recipe, I suggest you give these parmesan and sun-dried tomato burgers a whirl. Start with a bakery quality bun and add beef. I used Original BUBBA burgers for my recipe. I topped them with parmesan cheese, a slice of tomato, spinach, and sun-dried tomato spread. Sometimes a good burger is about adding great ingredients. It’s not about how many different items you can top them with. Parmesan and sun-dried tomato spread is a winning combination.
Make sure you get a nice block of parmesan to shave. You can pick up your favorite sun-dried tomato spread in the aisle with tomato sauce. You get bonus points if you make your own spread.
BUBBA Burger products are found in the freezer section of your local grocery store. These burgers go from frozen to juicy and delicious in just a matter of minutes. You don’t have to thaw them out ahead of time either. This makes lunch or dinner on whim easy to put together. Just throw them on the grill or stove. One bite of this delicious burger and you won’t believe it was from the freezer section.
Ingredients:
Bakery quality buns
Original BUBBA burgers
Parmesan cheese, flaked and grated
Sliced tomato
Sun-dried tomato spread
Spinach
Instructions:
Cook the BUBBA burgers according to package guidelines. I prepared mine in a skillet.
Top with parmesan cheese during the last few minutes of cooking so it melts
Assemble the bun – spread the top with sun-dried tomato spread, add spinach and tomato to the bottom. Insert a sizzling burger and enjoy immediately.
*Optional: toast your bun in the oven or on the grill. Nothing beats a warm and toasted bun.
