Fira and I headed Paramount Ranch for an adventure.
Paramount Ranch is home to the iconic Western town, a popular filming location for hundreds of movies and popular television shows including Westworld and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. It’s a popular destination for tourists and hikers. Unfortunately the town burned in 2018 when the Woosley Fire ravaged through the surrounding area. The church however was untouched by the flames.
There are plans to rebuild the town for filming again, I’ll have to make another trip back once it’s done. My friend Isabelle and I brought our horses to snap some photos and go for a ride. There are trails and lots of hiking opions. If you’re pulling a horse trailer, there is ample parking.
The parking lot address is 2903 Cornell RoadĀ Agoura Hills, CA 91301
We snapped some photos by the church and then wandered off to explore the trails.
We started off taking the Coyote Canyon Trail. I’m not sure if we followed it entirely, but we took a nice scenic loop.
We found a nice surprise near the end of our trail. A cool creek with lots of water. Fira enjoyed splashing and playing in the stream.
I could have stayed here for hours. The water was so refreshing. If you look above and behind me, you’ll noticed blackened branches from the fire. It’s amazing how nature can recover from a horrific fire.
I’ve linked my hat, bandana and shirt to shop here to shop. If you come to ride make sure you visit in the early morning and/or wear lots of sunscreen. There isn’t much shade or cover from the sun. I always bring water in the trailer for the horses. They had plenty to drink at the creek, but you always want to be prepared. Have fun exploring the scenic area.

Wow that looks like a fun ride. Lots of trails to explore and tons of nature. Sad to see blackened trees anywhere that wildfires hit.
