Nothing brightens up a kitchen like freshly painted cabinets.
Is there anything better than fresh paint and new hardware in the kitchen? The answer is no. Between the heat, COVID and smoke in SoCal I’ve been in the house a little bit more lately. This means I have more time to stare at things and get ideas in my head. Green cabinets have been having a moment on Pinterest. From hunter to sage and mint, these hues can help freshen up any space.
Before
Here is a photo of the cabinets and hardware before from they were painted. I always said they had Anthropologie vibes.
I used Behr Jojoba with an eggshell enamel finish on the cabinets. I prefer a matte finish, but I didn’t want them to look too flat. The color reminds me of a nice light sage. It might appear a little more aqua/lighter in these photos with the editing enhancements. I’d also like to point out that My DIY Peel & Stick Floor is still holding up great.
The cabinets really pop with new paint and the room feels so much happier.
The new hardware matches the floor and the stove. That stove is old, but now it looks like a vintage piece that was bought with the intention being placed here. The kitchen is giving off some major modern farmhouse vibes. Below are some of my kitchen accessories.
I think my next DIY project will involve creating some sort of vinyl sticker to cover the front of the dishwasher. It will be black of course. I think this will tie it in with the rest of the room perfectly.
If you have any questions about the paint or floors, leave them below. I did two coats of paint on each cabinet door (inside and out) and removed them from their hinges for easy painting.
