An update on my wildly popular peel and stick floor project.
It’s been almost a year since I posted MY DIY Peel & Stick Kitchen Floor. That blog post continues to be a viral hit on Pinterest and is constantly a source of questions – How do you clean it? Did it last? Do you still have the tile down? What does it look like now? If you are new here, the original blog post is found here >
Since I receive so many questions, I decided to take the time and share some updates. I can happily announce that I still have and LOVE my peel and stick floor tiles. As a renter, it’s one of the best things I’ve done for our home. I wish I had done it as soon as we moved in. The floor tiles haven’t budged. The adhesive is still strong and I don’t think these tiles are going anywhere. There are no scratches or marks on the floor. I have to say, I’m really impressed with the quality. If I was skeptical the first few months, I’m certainly not anymore.
Cleaning Peel & Stick Tile
Another popular question is how do I clean it. This is so important. You cannot mop it or get it soaking wet. The adhesive will be ruined and your floor will most likely start to come up. I use our cord-free Dyson vacuum regularly on it. The vacuum itself deserves its own blog post. It makes cleaning a breeze and keeps this house in good shape. Once I’m done vacuuming the floor, I’ll remove and shake the rug outside and then it’s time for a deep clean. I use Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Multi-Surface Cleaner on the floor. I start by spraying this on a rag or dry cloth that I attach to my Swiffer Sweeper. The key to keeping your floor clean is basically with spot cleaning. I’ll say it again, you do not want to mop or add large amounts of water to the floor. This will damage your tiles and the adhesive. I’ve actually never spilled water or any food on the floor, despite all of my cooking. I don’t know if this would hold up as well with a busy family that has kids, but it has been absolutely perfect for me.

These floors are so cute!!! I love them! I have been wondering how they hold up. We are doing some kitchen cabinet refinishing next week and I was thinking this could be a good solution for our floors. Thanks for all your advice!
