Learn how to make your own easy DIY grooming box for just $9.99!
When I decided to purchase a wooden grooming box, I quickly discovered how expensive they can be. I wanted a beautiful wooden box, but I didn’t want to spend a lot. I am not a fan of the colorful plastic grooming boxes I had growing up and my soft shelled grooming bags are similar to my purse – an endless pit where rubber bands and hoof picks go, never to be discovered again.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I live about 1.5 miles from the largest IKEA in the country. I go there a lot. Whenever I need something random, I run to IKEA. I can tell you where everything is, how to navigate the parking lot, where to take short cuts if you don’t want to go through the store, and what time to go. I’m an IKEA master. One day I spotted the SKOGSTA box. While IKEA intended it to be a nice garage or kitchen organizer, I realized it was the perfect grooming box for $9.99.
I added a few personalized touches like black paint around the edges and a silver glittery horseshoe. I love how simple, clean, and expense this looks. I know the holidays have passed, but this would really be a great way of packaging horse brushes, or grooming supplies. You can also try stenciling or painting your horse’s name on the box.

Below is my first YouTube video! I’m so excited and nervous to put this out there. One of my big goals for 2018 is to include recipe and DIY videos along with my blog posts. I definitely have a ton to learn about making better videos, but in order to learn you must begin. So please watch my video and subscribe to my channel.
Supply List:

Horseshoe (optional) – glue if you adhere your shoe. I recommend using Aleene’s Tacky Glue.

I love how it turned out, it looks like it was made for those Pony Tail products! And your first YouTube video is so cute, I’m headed over there to subscribe right now! I think I’ve only been to IKEA once and I was lost in it’s maze, so that’s pretty awesome that you have that whole place figured out, now I know why you’re the Queen of Organization!

Thanks Lindsey! I just subscribed to your channel as well! YouTube is certainly a whole new world and I can’t wait to try making more videos. When I lived in Ohio, we didn’t have a close IKEA so my first time was in California. It’s definitely an overwhelming store your first visit!

This is really pretty! I know what you mean about not really liking plastic grooming boxes – they just aren’t that attractive. I bet my mom and sister would love one of these wood grooming boxes!
