Children’s books are always fun to shop for and flip through there colorful pages. I’m sharing some great options for kids of all ages. Books are listed counter clockwise from top to bottom.

If I Ran the Horse Show: All About Horses (Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library), by Bonnie Worth, illustrations by Aristides Ruiz and Joe Mathieu. A fun book all about horses told by Cat in the hat. 

The Tale of Willhanna: A Horse’s Magical Birthday, by Kristen Halverson, illustrations by Dalbaeva Maria. Willhanna the horse prepares to celebrate his 10th birthday. 

My Pony, by Susan Jeffers. The story of a girl wanting her first pony.

The Tale of Noel: The Holiday Horse Angel, by Kristen Halverson, illustrated by Kathy Jurek. A magical holiday story about being reunited with loved ones. 

Spirit Riding Free: The Adventure Begins (Dreamworks Spirit Riding Free), by Suzanne Selfors. The popular movie Spirit, in a book. 

B Is For Buckaroo: A Cowboy Alphabet, by Louise Doak Whitney, illustrated by Susan Guy. A fun western book that goes through the alphabet for youngsters. 

Justin Morgan and the Big Horse Race, by Ellen F. Feld, illustrated by Jeanne Mellin. Loosely based on the true story of Justin Morgan, the first Morgan horse. 

The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses, by Paul Goble. The story of a young Native American girl devoted to the care of her tribe’s horses, she eventually becomes one.

Shadow: The Curious Morgan Horse, by Ellen F. Feld, illustrated by Jeanne Mellin. A story about curiosity and a young horse. 

The Smallest Horse ~ A Children’s Picture Book About Discovering Your Own Special Talents, by Lorie List, illustrated by Amanda Holbo. The story of Trixie, a miniature horse who worries she’s not big enough to have an important job on the ranch.
